The small Kent village of Boxley, situated less than 4 kilometres from Maidstone, is set in beautiful countryside amid the ruins of Boxley Abbey. In the middle of the 19th century the village held races on Wednesday 1st November 1843, although there are no further records of meetings taking place in the village.
